An Axis of odd Bedfellows, Burma in Arabia..........

I got some comment that the blog is covering too much Iran and much less Arab states. It is true these past couple of weeks, but there are reasons. So much is happening inside Iran and about Iran in the region and in the world. Nothing interesting is happening on the Arab side, nothing that is not largely determined by the USA, Iran, or Israel. It looks like the fate of our region is being determined by the interaction of these three forces: the United States, Iran, and Israel, in exactly that order. The Arabs are mostly observers, or in some cases sidekicks with no serious input in their own fate.
It is a long way, baby, from the era when Arabs actually controlled their own destiny, but that was a brief period during the 1950s and 1960s. Since then, it has been downhill, with outside powers largely in control. Such is a mark of the era of domination by the tribal oligarchies: the olgarchs are uninteresting, uninspiring, and self-centered. That makes the whole region static and uninteresting in some ways. It is sort of like we are talking about a huge vast Burma (Myanmar)........
Perhaps we can call this USA-Iran-Israel "axis" the axis of odd bedfellows.......
