Ahmadinejad and Feminism, Rafsanjani the Hacker……………..

>

I hadn’t been to Ahamadinejad’s website for months. I had read that it was hacked and I assumed it was not Muasavi, or Karoubi, or Khatami, or Rafsanjani, or any of the others who did it. Rafsanjani does not strike me as a hacker. The site looks more “hip” than last time I visited< and I am talking only about the visuals. Too many pictures of him looking rather ….. unearthly.

I discovered, surprisingly, that he is a feminist. It is true that he appointed women to his cabinet, but it goes beyond that. Here is one excerpt: “Ahmadinejad: Reform needed in West’s instrumental approach towards women. IRI President here Wednesday considered West’s approach towards women “instrumental”, arguing, “Nothing is left of women’s prestige in Europe and some other countries.” Addressing an International Conference of Islamic World Female Scientists, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad added, “Under such conditions, the female scientists of the Islamic world can both harbinger reforms and elevate the real status of women in the world today.” President Ahmadinejad further elaborated on his viewpoint on women’s status in the West, arguing, “They take advantage of women there to advertise for their goods, and this shows how worthless they consider the value of women there.”………”

He doesn’t like all the Jenny Craig, L’Oreal, and especially Victoria’s Secret commercials.
Cheers
