Iran Human Rights Report, Saudi Arabia Next, the ‘Not Goldstone’ Report, What About Kim?.........

“Iran earmarks $20 million to "resist" West rights abuse. Lawmakers in Iran, which is often accused by the West of human rights violations, backed a plan on Sunday to earmark $20 million to help shed light on and "resist" such abuses by the United States and Britain, media reported. Parliament also voted to oblige the Foreign Ministry to prepare annual reports on the human rights situation in its two Western foes, the official IRNA news agency reported. The reports will be issued every year on November 4, when the Islamic Republic marks the anniversary of the 1979 storming of the U.S. embassy in Tehran by radical students who took 52 Americans hostage for 444 days. Under the proposal, whose outlines were approved by the legislature, $20 million from Iran's Oil Stabilization Fund will be allocated to help "progressive movements" report on rights abuses by the United States and Britain………”
One more ‘human rights’ report to anticipate each year. But then again, it might help expand the definition of “human rights”; if that is possible at all. We will have the Amnesty International Report, the HRW Report, the US State Department report, the PETA Report, and the Iran Foreign Ministry Report (let’s call it the Mullah Report). I expect next we shall read about a Saudi Arabian Report (the Absolute Monarchy Report). Who knows, we may hear of a Husni Mubarak Human Rights report. The Israelis may even decide to publish their own West Bank and Gaza Report (they can call it the Not Goldstone Report). I am looking forward to enjoying all these.
I wonder what Kim Jong-Il is thinking right now. Maybe I know…….
Cheers
