A Terrified Hillary, a Bold Moroccan Cockroach, a Ruthless Bahraini Shaikh………

This was reproduced from the Saudi daily Alwatan, a recent 'diplomatic' incident that I did not see covered in the US media, but I found it entertaining enough to translate parts of it:

The world had barely forgotten the fate of the “Obama fly” a few months ago, which became the talk of world television channels, when the Moroccan Arab cockroach hit the scene. That was during the meeting of Clinton with Arab foreign ministers. I say, R.I.P. We are not among those who foresee evil devele[pments from the observing other species, but the Arab crises on the table were complex and sad, to a degree that made the cockroach march next to Hillary Clinton, the elegant older lady who is terrified of cockroaches and runs away from them. Hillary could not strike at the Moroccan cockroach, but the Bahraini foreign minister Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmad al-Khalifa did the task of dispatching the aggressor just as Hillary was about to jump up……. One report says that Hillary commenced to scream, forcing the aggressor to head toward the Bahraini shaikh, who crushed him with his bare hand…….. Reports indicate that the cockroach had initially passed near the foreign ministers of Kuwait (Dr. Mohammad al-Sabah) and Qatar (Shaikh Hamad Bin Jasim al-Thani) but they ignored him at first, and when he approached them again they flung him away (presumably toward Mrs. Clinton). They did not try to kill him, perhaps to showcase out Arab concern for human and animal rights……. Some see in the arrogant behavior of the cockroach a kind of Arab revenge for American arroagance……….”

It only goes to show that the Bahraini oligarchs are not only quicker on their feet sometimes, but that they are also much more ruthless than some of the others, but only some. There is no doubt that they are. Events on the ground in Bahrain seem to corroborate this: just ask many Bahrainis.

Also, I don’t blame Clinton for being scared. Arabian cockroaches can be terrifying, and the Gulf variety are the worst. I know: used to do battle with them as a kid. Of course later on I saw varieties in parts of Africa that would challenge me to kick them out of my hotel room.

BTW: why was she meeting Gulf foreign ministers in Morocco?
Cheers
