Some Prefer Them Dead in Jordan, Honor Killings East of the River………

“Murder charges were brought against three Jordanian brothers who had murdered their sister and burned her house in a new ‘honor killing’........ The woman was 40 years old and had five children. The brothers waited until after her five kids were gone to school, then all three did a 'Julius Caesar' on her, they joined in stabbing her fifteen times, then they tried to hide the evidence by burning the house.........They said she behaved badly even when she was married........

“Jordanian law imposes the death penalty, but makes exceptions in cases of ‘honor killings’ when the victim’s family declines the punishment.........”

This must be Jordanian logic (1): How can you restore your honor, if that is what is, if you burn the evidence so that no one would know you did it????
More Jordanian logic (2): As for the victim’s family declining punishment: aren’t they the ones who commit the killings, hence its being called an honor killing?

So much for the honor thingy.
And that is the way it is, in a pillar of the moderate New Middle East.........
