The Good American, the Good Irishman, the Political Iraqi, the Ugly Iraqi, and the Dogcatcher of Baghdad

The Good Irishman:
Ted Kennedy 1932-2009: 'Lion of the Senate' dead at 77......
He was one good American, a very good one, not without faults, and who is......
His dream did not endure long, it was killed by 20 years of Reagan-BushI-BushII that ushered in and entrenched a corporatist "me first" society based on pure greed of the (To defeat the terrorist, go shop and spend) variety.....
(We'll get to the 'ugly' later, but I have CNBC on, and Larry Kudlow 's face just popped up......)

The political Iraqi:
Abdul Aziz al-Hakim died in Tehran, Iran, and his body will be sent to Iraq to be buried in Najaf, said Haitham al-Husseini, a senior official with al-Hakim's office and one of al-Hakim's advisers. Al-Hakim had been receiving lung cancer treatment in neighboring Iran for more than two years........
Well, he was bad at convincing many others to support his agenda......

The bad and the ugly:
Shaikh Harith al-Dhari, Secretary General of the Muslim (Sunni) Ulema Association in Iraq has accused political parties of responsibilities for the recent bombings…He expressed doubt the al-Qaeda in Iraq was responsible.......
(Not sure who appointed him "shaikh" since his land has no petroleum).

So opines the terror supporter, the Arab oligarchs’ secret real first choice to lead Iraq because he is a sectarian Sunni, after Iyad Allawi who is their public first choice (Allawi is Shi’a but secular, which makes him doubly unacceptable to the tribal royalists, even as he furiously kisses up to them). Allawi's problem is that he thinks he can become Primer Minister through Riyadh and Amman. Except that they don't vote in Riyadh, not even for a dog-catcher.
He needs to go to places like al-Amarah, Nasiriyah, Karbala, and Najaf: that is where the votes are.
Cheers and Ramadan Kareem
