I recall that King Abdul de Jourdanie was accorded the undeserved honor of addressing a joint session of the United States Congress (it is indeed an honor if you subtract most Republican senators and congressmen, as well as a handful of Blue Dog Democrats).
During that 2007 speech, his little majesty opined that “Let me reaffirm that Jordan is committed to playing a positive role in the peace process. It is part of our larger commitment to global co-existence and progress. Ours is an Islamic country with a proud record of diversity, moderation, and shared respect……”
Diversity and respect indeed.
Thus behaves the police state of King Abdul de Jourdanie….a little king of a medium-sized member of the moderate police states of the New Middle East.
