An Iran Message: Revolutions Have Consequences. Wishful on the Persian Gulf

A revolution has consequences.
Some Arab oligarchs and their media flunkies can’t seem to understand one important fact: a rvolution is a r-e-v-o-l-u-t-i-o-n. When it overthrows an unacceptable ruler in Tehran, it sends messages to many others, millions of Arabs, that they do not have to accept the unacceptable for themselves either. That is what happened last time, in 1979, and the turmoil is still felt all across the Middle East.

Revolution have consequences, and not just in the countries concerned.
They have regional consequences and they have international consequences. This happened with all three classic popular revolutions of the modern age. It happened with the first one, the French Revolution of 1789, with the second modern revolution, the Russian Communist one in 1917, and the third revolution of modern history, the Iranian of 1979. Think of Napoleon and the message spreading across Europe of "Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité". Think of Lenin and Stalin and the spread of communism.

However, the Russian revolution which overthrew Cousin Nicholas did not help Cousin Wilhelm and Imperial Germany in the war either, did it? Think of what the first Iranian Revolution brought. A revolution is not a spectator sports you can watch and go home afterwards to stuff your face with food or dally with your partner.
One Gulf Arab attitude, reflected in this silly and pandering editorial in alseyassah, is that this turmoil is a negative only for Iran and the ruling mullahs and will somehow help the Arab oligarchies. That it implies all the ruling Arab oligarchs represent their people’s will and are popular. It is a negative for the ruling mullahs, no doubt. But the fool does not realize that Arab peoples are watching and silently, some not so silently, wondering: why can’t we also rise against our life-long unelected dictators and against all forms of corruption? Why do we have to be stuck with these lemons in suits, uniforms, or other attire?

They are clearly much more patient than the Iranian people, the Arab peoples, but they are clever too. As they watch, they will learn, and they will wonder…..why not?
