Fuzzy Iran Political Math: Of Genies and Mummies. So, Where in the World is Lieberman (Avigdor, not Joe)?

I believe that those who rushed to congratulate Iran on what they termed her democracy and fair elections, that they should review their quick judgment with which wide groups of the Iranian people disagree……...There has been no strong international voices calling for explanations of the vote and its aftermath…The legitimacy of Ahmadinejad will be in question even if he lasts for the next four years… al-Ahram (Egypt) column.

He makes a few good points, this writer, about the Iran elections, with which I agree. I agree about why the conservative clerics had an incentive to interfere with the vote. I also agree that Ahmadinejad will be a ’wounded’ president should he remain in office: the
genie is out of the bottle. But that is as far as it goes.
He is as hypocritical many in the media tend to be (including bloggers, myself not excepted).
Some degree of hypocrisy is a mark of Middle East media, as it is of some Western media. He could also, and much more credibly, have written the same about Egypt’s last election. As I recall, the owner of al-Ahram, President Mubarak, when he was forced by Mr. Bush into allowing a sham election, won by some 90+% of the vote, or was it only 85+% (Ahmadinejad claims to have won less than 63%).
In those days, his goons were active before the voting, and after the voting. His only opponent was not allowed to come out into the street: he was packed to jail for several years. He was released only before president Obama’s recent visit to Cairo.

Others in the Middle East are also like myself, eager for Iranian democracy to better reflect popular will. I have seen it in the loyal, royal, and dictatorial media of those who would rather chop heads than give up absolute power.
Speaking of legitimacy of rule…speaking of genies in bottles….

So, where in the world is Lieberman:
I still wonder what the hell happened to Lieberman (Avigdor, not Joe)? We have not seen or heard from him since Bibi Netanyahu picked him as foreign minister many weeks ago. Is it true he is being held in some cellar in Jerusalem to keep him from doing damage? Which makes Bibi his own foreign minister.
Cheers
