Iran Contradictions, Saudi Contradictions, and Egypt’s Two-Front War

“Saudi analysts see what is happening as natural in the government of contradictions in Iran….”
Actually, Iran is full of contradictions and various political forces. These analysts probably also believe, like I do, that their own society internally, like Iran’s, is full of contradictions, although it is not considered genteel or wise in Arabia to acknowledge contradictions or differences- everybody is supposed to be made of the very same mold.
Their government, however, is quite unified vis-à-vis the outside world and the rest of society. That is why the recent decision to change the extremely tame municipal councils to appointed ones did not raise any complaint within the ruling circles or the media that they totally control.
“But why do Western media express outrage over a stolen election in Iran but they don't even feign outrage over lack of elections in Saudi Arabia? So it is not about democracy or respecting the will of the people any way. “
“Libya announces cases of the plague. Egypt fears two dangers now as the plague reaches Tobruk across the border…..”
Well, perhaps the tame legislature can pass another law to exterminate all the country’s rats, the four-legged ones, as well as other potential plague carriers. As it did with the pigs, the government will heartily agree and redeploy its mighty army to fight on two fronts.
However, no third front is expected any time soon, because the good Egyptian people are normally very patient and very peaceful. They also have a great sense of humor, almost the only one in the whole Arab world, which has helped them put up with a lot during the past thirty years.
But I do recall an Egyptian saying that “Patience has its limits…”
